Two First-half Goals Secure Victory for the Red Eagles

Alahly, Egyptian Premier League, Football

Al Ahly achieved a 2-0 win over Enppi on Saturday night at Al Ahly WE Al Salam Stadium in Matchweek 30 of the Egyptian Premier League.

Walter Bwalya opened the score in the opening minutes of the game while a fantastic shot from Mohamed Magdy Afsha doubled the score.

We kept creating more chances but our attempts to add more goals were unsuccessful.

First Half
We made a sprightly start to the game and our striker Walter Bwalya quickly put us in front with a beautiful header after a brilliant cross from Ali Maaloul.

The first half was defined by attacking prowess from our Eagles who pushed forward to double the score.

In the tenth minute, Hamdy Fathy fired a screamer from the opponent’s final third, but the goalkeeper managed to control the ball.

The pressure finally turned on 28 minutes when Afsha’s beautiful finish found the back of the net to make the score 2-0.

Afsha passed the ball to Kahraba, who magically dribbled past the defender and passed it again to Afsha inside the box. Our in-form playmaker fired a staggering shot that hit the bottom of the corner.

A moment of real Al Ahly magic was so close. Maaloul sent a brilliant long pass to Afsha, who sent a cross to Bwalya. Our striker touched the ball, trying to change its direction, but his effort missed the bottom corner and went to a goal kick.

We controlled the game’s tempo and had some possession before the referee blew his half-time whistle.

Second Half

The second half kicked off with no changes and we missed a clear scoring chance. Akram Tawfik received the ball on the right flank and sent a cross to Bwalya, whose header missed the net and the ball went away to a goal kick.

The Red Eagles then controlled the game and kept pushing to score more goals, but all our attempts were blocked by Enppi’s defense.

Pitso Mosimane, our head coach, used his bench for the first time in the game, as Aliou Dieng and Taher Mohamed Taher entered the pitch instead of Hussein El Shahat and El Soulia.

In the 69th minute, Afsha’s beautiful pass found Taher on the right side. Taher delivered a cross inside the box.  A poor clearance from Enppi’s defense found Dieng’s leg but the Malian’s strike went over the bar.

Mosimane used his bench again, as Salah Mohsen joined the game instead of Kahraba.

With 78 minutes on the clock, Enppi’s Karim Tarek sprinted on the left flank and sent a cross inside the box. The striker tried to receive the ball, but our defenders blocked his shot and went to a corner kick.

Two minutes later, Enppi’s Ramy Sabry was sent off after receiving his second yellow card in the game, due to a late challenge against Taher.

Mosimane made his final substitutions in the game, as Saad Samir and Mahmoud Wahid replaced Bwalya and Yasser Ibrahim.

The final moments of the game went without any clear chances, and the referee blew his final whistle to declare a precious victory for the Red Eagles.
